OUR IMPACT
Inside Our Walls
When Someone Needs Help, We Find a Way.
We believe financial hardship should not prevent someone from receiving the counseling they need.
At Joanna Snow Ministries, we work to meet people where they are financially. When someone comes to us for help, our goal is to find a way to make counseling accessible rather than allowing cost to become the reason they go without support.
Every day, we encounter people whose circumstances have changed—someone who has lost a job, a single parent trying to care for a family, a child who needs support, an older adult living on a limited income, or an individual without insurance or the resources to pay the full cost of counseling.
We do not want finances to be the reason someone has to face a difficult season alone.
Through the support of our nonprofit, we have been able to provide counseling at reduced or no cost to many individuals and families in need. Sometimes that means helping someone with counseling through a temporary financial crisis. Other times, it means providing ongoing support to someone who simply does not have another way to access care.
We meet people where they are, help where we can, and continue working toward a simple goal:
When someone reaches out for help, we want there to be a way forward.
Beyond Our Walls
Sometimes the people who need support most aren't able to walk through our doors. So we go to them.
Our mission extends beyond the walls of our counseling center.
Through partnerships with two local programs in Mobile, Alabama, that provide housing and supportive services to women and children transitioning out of homelessness and housing instability, our team brings counseling, emotional support, practical resources, and life-skills development directly to those rebuilding their lives. For many of the women we meet, finding housing is an important beginning—but rebuilding a life involves much more.
There may be trauma to process, relationships to repair, children who have experienced instability, new routines to establish, employment and financial decisions to navigate, healthy boundaries to develop, and the challenge of learning how to move forward after seasons of survival.
We want to walk alongside women as they move from surviving toward stability, confidence, connection, and hope.
What We Provide
One-on-One Counseling
Women have access to individual counseling where they can work through trauma, grief, depression, anxiety, relationships, parenting concerns, and the experiences that have shaped their lives.
Group Support
Our team provides groups that create opportunities for connection, learning, encouragement, and practicing healthier ways of relating to themselves and others.
Life-Skills Development
Moving toward independence requires practical skills as well as emotional healing. We help women strengthen everyday skills related to routines, communication, relationships, boundaries, decision-making, employment, finances, self-care, and navigating life beyond transitional housing.
Support for Children & Families
Homelessness and instability affect children, too. As needs arise, we work to support the emotional and relational well-being of children and families as they adjust, heal, and build greater stability together.
Practical Resources
We provide resources and tools that reinforce what women are learning and help them continue practicing those skills outside of counseling and groups.
More Than a Place to Live
Housing can provide safety and stability. But rebuilding a life also requires opportunities to heal, learn, connect, and discover that the future can look different from the past. That's the role we hope to fill alongside our community partners.
We don't simply want to help someone through a difficult moment. We want to help equip her for what comes next.
Your Giving Makes This Possible.
Your generosity creates access where there might otherwise be a barrier.
Every counseling session provided at reduced or no cost, every group offered within our community partnerships, every life-skills lesson taught, and every resource placed into someone's hands requires people who believe this work matters.
Your giving helps us say yes when someone needs counseling but cannot afford it.
It helps us take counseling and support beyond our walls to women and children rebuilding their lives after homelessness and housing instability.
It helps provide the resources, tools, and practical support that allow growth to continue long after a counseling session or group has ended.
Your gift helps provide:
Accessible Counseling — helping individuals and families receive professional counseling when finances or lack of insurance might otherwise stand in the way.
Community-Based Counseling — bringing one-on-one counseling and emotional support directly into our partner programs in Mobile.
Groups & Life Skills — helping women develop emotional, relational, and practical skills as they work toward greater stability and independence.
Support for Children & Families — helping families navigate the emotional impact of instability and transition.
Resources for Growth — providing practical tools that reinforce what individuals are learning in counseling, groups, and everyday life.
