Reduced Fee Counseling

We desire to do more than just create resources but to also meet the counseling needs in our local community. We offer mental health counseling for a reduced fee to help meet the needs of the community. Each counselor is supervised by Joanna Snow, MA LPC-S, and receives thorough on-going training. If you are in need of a reduced fee we are willing to adjust the fee to help those in need.

  • Kiara J. Brown, BA

    Kiara is currently in the final stages of achieving her Master of Science Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Grand Canyon University. She holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Mass Communications and Journalism from the University of Southern Mississippi, complemented by double minors in English and Black Studies. As an esteemed member of the American Counseling Association, Kiara is committed to fostering a secure and inclusive environment for every individual she counsels.

    Kiara employs a trauma-informed and culturally sensitive approach, recognizing the importance of addressing individual experiences and backgrounds. She firmly believes in the concept that healing is an ongoing journey rather than a fixed destination. Kiara is enthusiastic about collaborating with clients facing challenges such as trauma, anxiety, and general life difficulties.

    Maria is currently pursuing her Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Troy University under the supervision of Joanna Snow, MA, LPC-S. She obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics (Secondary Education) from California State College Northridge and has over 17 years of teaching in elementary and high school settings.

    Maria is passionate about helping individuals achieve their goals, whether in an academic setting or personal life. She aspires to cultivate a genuine connection where individuals feel heard and understood, and are encouraged to delve into their thoughts and emotions. Maria firmly believes that this openness and authenticity form the foundation of transformative therapy. Her commitment extends to providing an environment where clients can express themselves freely, fostering an atmosphere that nurtures personal growth and empowerment. Maria is dedicated to building a foundation of care and empathy, ensuring her clients feel supported and inspired to reach their fullest potential.

    Tucker is currently pursuing his Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Liberty University, under the supervision of Joanna Snow, MA, LPC-S. He obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Biblical Studies from Faulkner University and spent approximately five years serving as a youth minister in Montgomery, Alabama.

    Presently, Tucker is a minister at the Creekwood Church of Christ in Mobile. His background in ministry has given him valuable experience in assisting and supporting others, and he is eager to continue this work in a counseling setting.

    Tucker is committed to fostering an open and accepting environment where authentic conversations and transformative change can occur. His ultimate aim is to ensure clients feel heard and empowered to achieve their goals by the end of the counseling process.

    Presley believes that getting to the root of the issue is what sets clients on the path to ultimate healing. In order to heal, band-aids cannot be put on lifelong wounds. The therapeutic process will not necessarily be easy, but it will definitely be worth it. You have more power than you think to heal and grow. You do not have to stay stuck in your current state. The human mind was created to adapt and be made whole again. There is always hope for healing.

    Many people have never felt safe, seen, heard, or understood—It’s a completely foreign concept to them. Presley strives to hold space for any and all emotions and offers a nonjudgmental environment that promotes connection and vulnerability.

    Using a trauma-informed approach and evidence-based treatment modalities, Presley collaborates with her clients on forming a treatment plan and letting therapy naturally progress at the client’s needed pace. She specializes in working with young adults, teens, and pre-teens experiencing a variety of presenting concerns.

    Presley is currently completing her Master of Arts degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling under the direct supervision of Joanna Snow, LPC-S. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology with a minor in Sociology from the University of Mobile. She has specialized training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), which helps clients dealing with different forms of trauma.

    Carrie Kennedy is an Associate Licensed Counselor in Alabama, and in the final stages of earning her doctoral degree in Counselor Education and Supervision from Walden University, under the supervision of Joanna Snow, MA, LPC-S. She graduated from Troy University in Montgomery with an M.S. in Community Counseling. Carrie has approximately ten years of experience working with students in college and high school settings.

    Her goal in counseling is to create a safe space where all clients who walk into the office can feel comfortable simply being themselves. It is essential to Carrie that the clients feel valued, heard, and respected. In addition, she believes in taking a collaborative approach to helping clients reach their goals.

    Carrie has compassion for people going through life’s challenges and feels privileged to work with those seeking support. She recognizes the importance of building relationships with clients to help them establish realistic and attainable goals. She is committed to helping clients learn to make changes and providing them with the tools and techniques to reach their full potential. With a background in counseling and a deep understanding of the human experience, she is dedicated to helping others navigate change, foster resilience, and embrace new chapters with optimism.

    With a specialization in geriatric living situations, Jennifer offers invaluable insights and strategies for seniors navigating transitions such as downsizing, assisted living, or aging in place. Her expertise in family support ensures that loved ones are equipped with the resources and emotional support they need during these challenging times. She is committed to fostering open communication, understanding family dynamics, and providing compassionate guidance every step of the way.
