We all Have a Part
As good as it is to see the power and strength in others, this can quickly become a form of spiritual distraction, causing us to miss who we are in God’s bigger picture.
I am not talking about our identity in Christ. I am talking about the step after that — the moment following our realization of who God is and who we are. The moment when we look around and our spiritual eyes are opened. At that time, we can see that the battle is real and fierce. The enemy wants to go after the weak and slam through the strong, wearing them down consistently with distractions. If we are not careful to stay in a position of restorations, that constant beating can cause our strength to start to weaken. This deterioration is done by forgetting where our power comes from, falling into the trap of monotony, being weighed down by life, neglecting our spiritual growth…. I could continue down the list.
Each of us needs to realize we all have a part in linking arms with the person next to us to build a barrier as we step forward to take the places that God has called us to. I give a visual of linking arms because it shows that each person has a part. We get convinced that our role does not matter as much, so we pull back and the links become weak in our area. Over time, there are very few left in a city trying to move forward in what God has called us to do: bring forth light, love, and the gospel.
Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor: If either of them falls down, one can help the other up. But pity anyone who falls and has no one to help them up.
Ecclesiastes 4:9,10
I want you to know that your part is essential. No matter what it might be, you matter in linking arms with the person next to you. Your power adds to mine, and with that, we can take the “land,” spiritual places, that God has given us. The Lord desires for every place to be filled with His light and love pouring forth, but it’s hard when there are fewer who are willing to be a part of sharing Him with others. God desires to be connected to the hearts of everyone, not just some.
Know that you matter. Your linking arms in the body of Christ matters. Going forth boldly with others changes the world around you. Go be awesome! Find someone and another and another to link arms with and take your city by storm with the power of Holy Spirit!
