What’s Next?

We are just ending a year filled with shocking events that have left many of us questioning what’s next. I think there is a certain level of thankfulness and knowledge from this year, but there are also many disappointments with how events have unfolded. Right now is the moment to determine what to speak over our “what’s next,” choosing our perspective towards 2021.

Is it life that will come forth from our mouth or absolute discouragement? It’s hard to be hit by unplanned difficulties; the struggle to be hopeful about what is next can feel overwhelming. In that, I think we can quickly lose sight of the small blessings that life gives us. Considering all the little things can bring a significant level of hope. Blessings found in a beautiful rose, the laughter of a baby, or the hug from a friend can each add light to our moments. It’s not about pretending that past events did not happen, but it’s about looking for beauty in the midst of the pain. Seeing the beautiful makes it possible to believe that good can come. I call them the small fingerprints of God that remind us that He still walks with us even when we are unsure or we question His goodness towards us.

My hope and prayer for you is that you walk into 2021 with boldness, not because everything is perfect but because there are great adventures ahead. What’s next could quite possibly change all of your tomorrows into something more beautiful than you could have imagined.
