Unrestrained capacity
Have you ever considered what you would be doing or where you would be if fear never stood in the way of your steps?
I am not talking about something outside of your gifting and flow of talents.
I think often God offers us a path that looks exciting but feels impossible, so we move a different direction. We might have something placed deeply in our hearts, but if we are told no by someone, we go a different direction.
It amazes me the amount of times I see people pursuing different avenues that are not their heart or anything they desire to do. They spend their lives in the wrong space and slowly pass away, not physically, but mentally and spiritually. We are each created with unique interests and talents to do and create. Maybe there is a career move that you would like to make or a goal that you have been afraid to go after. I encourage you to take a moment and take inventory of your life. Look at ways that fear stops you, and start to make a list. Is there a friend that you need to meet? A promotion you should go for? A special someone that you need the courage to say hello to? Where is the giant of fear standing in the way of your tomorrows? Where should you step out with courage? Where do you need to believe God’s design and not your own?
I have moments where I look around at the amazing accomplishments I have achieved in my life and consider how often fear stood right in front of me. In each of those moments, I had a decision. I could either be consumed with the giant’s loud voice or I could move forward in the path that God laid out in front of me. I even consider this ministry in that list. It was a distant idea that sat and looked impossible. There have been many moments where it would have been easier to stay where it appeared comfortable and safe, but through continual prayer I knew that God was calling me to more. I had a choice about what voice I was going to believe more, the giant of Fear or God’s.
I want to speak and declare over you that you can move and go after what God has placed in your heart. Even if a door closes, that only means that you are prepared for the time that the door does open. Rise up with courage and do not wait for fear to move in order to go forward. Just walk right past it into the path that God has for you.
