Student Intern: Rachel Morrison (Walden University)
Rachel Morrison is in the process of receiving her Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with a specialization in Trauma and Crisis Counseling from Walden University. She received her Bachelor’s in Music from the University of South Alabama and taught in public schools and privately. While teaching, she discovered her passion for helping individuals who were struggling with mental and emotional health issues. As a teacher, Rachel was afforded the opportunity to work with individuals of various ages, developmental levels, and cultural backgrounds. She is excited to have the opportunity to transfer the knowledge she gained in this profession to her work in counseling. Upon graduating, Rachel plans to become a licensed professional counselor in the state of Alabama and also a National Board Certified Counselor. She is currently a member of the American Counseling Association. Rachel uses an integrative and creative approach to counseling which she tailors to fit the unique needs of each individual. She provides a nonjudgmental and caring atmosphere where clients feel safe to explore their concerns. Her main goal in counseling is to help her clients align their lives with their personal values, goals and to realize and fulfill their true potential.
Student Intern: Christina Steele (Liberty University)
Christina Steele is currently working towards her Master’s degree in Professional Counseling from Liberty University. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Intercultural Studies with a supporting area in Sociology from the University of Mobile. She is currently a member of the American Counseling Association. Upon graduation Christina plans to pursue state licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor. Christina’s schooling has prepared her in developing helping relationships with individuals from different cultural backgrounds. She has a true passion in walking alongside others in their daily growth. It is her goal to provide a safe, non-judgmental environment to work though life’s challenges. Christina’s hope is to work together with her clients in identifying their personal strengths and using those to formulate a treatment plan that brings hope to the future of her clients.
