A lot has been said lately about “faith over fear,” mostly in reference to whether or not we should wear masks or gather in groups. But fear didn’t just come with COVID 19. Fear arrived with Adam and Eve. Unhealthy fear — the kind that holds you down, holds you back, and holds you captive — doesn’t come from God. Paul writes that God gave us a spirit of power, love, and self-discipline (or “a sound mind” for my KJV friends). How does that look in your life? When you are facing an obstacle, do you stand in fear? If so, next time, remind yourself that God has given you a spirit of power, love, and self-discipline! God is with you! Our prayer is that you would hear His voice and complete everything He has for you, increasing His Kingdom and bringing you joy.

Have you ever considered what you would be doing or where you would be if fear never stood in the way of your steps?

I am not talking about something outside of your gifting and flow of talents.

I think often God offers us a path that looks exciting but feels impossible, so we move a different direction. We might have something placed deeply in our hearts, but if we are told no by someone, we go a different direction.

Joanna Snow Ministries is located in Downtown Mobile, Alabama, and we love it!

You probably recognize the fleur-de-lis used on the wrought iron fence above. In our area, we most often connect it with New Orleans. It’s the symbol of their professional football team, and you will find it on flags, shirts, and on the city seal. It’s on Mobile’s city seal, too. There, it represents the French history and foundation of the city. Over the past 300-plus years, Mobile has been governed and influenced by several different nations, peoples, and cultures, but the fleur-de-lis still dots the city as a reminder of early beginnings.

Your beginning with the Lord might have been recent, or it may seem like it was 300 years ago! Either way, you have most certainly been influenced by the world. But God has marked you as one of His. Remember your sweet foundation in the faith, and stand strong in your relationship. You are chosen!

But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.
